SpierHead Winery 2012 Pinot Gris - 88pts
Availability: Direct from winery here and select VQA stores
Production: 250 cases
Date Tasted: May 26th, 2013
Tasting Notes: When tasted blind it's easy to mistake this tangy Pinot Gris for a BC Sauvignon Blanc with its grass and grapefruit nose and bright, citrus-y palate. Beyond the tanginess and with a little time in the glass, the palate blooms with ripe orchard fruit and a rich texture complimented by mineral notes and a mouth-watering finish. A Pinot Gris you can enjoy on its own and over some hours as it changes in the glass. Drink 2013-2015.
