Tasting Notes: Produced as a field blend of Pinot Noir and Zweigelt grapes sourced from the winery's West Kelowna estate vineyard, this blush offers a tasty story arc starting with a delicate, aromatic nose of rose water, red fruit and citrus followed by a palate of up-front, sweet strawberry and mineral-y grapefruit flavours, finishing dry in a satisfying climax of mouth-watering, citrus and white peach acidity with a touch of spice lingering like a foreshadowed sequel until the next sip. Drink now-2021.

Tasting Notes: With the popularity of BC blush at an all-time high, one can't help but wonder if the genesis for this wine was the question "what are we going to do with all this Zweigelt?" Answer: try it as a rosé, (what do you have to lose?).

Turns out, it makes a pretty darn good rosé, with a nice juxtaposition of off-dry residual sugar, fresh, red berry fruit, light aromatics, bright, cran-apple acidity and a nice kick of minerals and bitter spices on the finish to balance it out. A fine BBQ blush for the dog days of summer. Drink now-2019.

Tasting Notes: A dry, fruity and unique rosé produced from 100% Zweigelt grapes sourced from a single-vineyard in West Kelowna. If you're not familiar with Zweigelt, don't beat yourself up, many are not. It's a cross between two equally lesser-known grapes, blaufränkisch and St. Laurent and is most commonly grown in Austria, where it was developed in the 1920's. 

As a rosé, the Seven Directions' version has retained much of its Zweigeltiness with sour cherry, fresh mineral, peppercorn spice and perfumed floral notes on the nose and palate, with added, classic 'blush' characters of strawberry and cranberry. A generous dose of crab apple acidity keeps the palate refreshing, perhaps a little too much so, as the balance sways slightly sharp through the finish where spice and mineral flavours linger moderately.

If you're looking for a unique and spicy rosé, this is your wine. Enjoy it in its youth.Drink now-2016.
