Tasting Notes: Warm, round and inviting, this sweet smelling Cab-Merlot blend (50/50 split) opens with ripe blackberry and cassis aromas supported by toasted French oak and light mocha notes. The easy-going, smooth textured palate follows offering similar dark fruit and oak flavours plus an added herby-spice element framed by mild tannins. Though it finishes with a nice acidic kick to keep the wine from getting flabby, the finish is a bit short. Took a long while to open up in the glass and suggests another 6+ months of bottle age would do nicely. Drink late-2013-2016.
