Tinhorn Creek Vineyards 2011 Gewurztraminer - 88pts
Availability: Direct from winery here, BCLDB and VQA stores
Date Tasted: April 19th, 2012
Tasting Notes: The 2011 vintage of the Tinhorn Creek Gewurztraminer is about as acidic as you can get with the Alsatian grape without losing any varietal identity. Blessed with natural fullness and a creamy mouth feel, this release succeeds by reigning in the body with vibrant, mouth watering, citrus acidity that structures the Asian pear, apple and lychee fruit characters beautifully. The finish is long and well balanced with lingering tartness and a touch of spice - everything you want from the grape whose translation literally means the spicy grape. Enjoy this wine, as you would most Gewurztraminer, in its youth. Drink 2012-2013.
