Tasting Notes: New Summerland winery SummerGate has produced two Rieslings in their inaugural 2009 vintage; the off-dry Riesling One and the dry Riesling Two. The Riesling One is nearly colourless in appearance (faint gold) and offers a gorgeous nose of honey, lime zest, wild flowers and slate aromas with just a hint of clove spice. The palate starts delicate with good continuity of flavours from the nose then becomes quite full, for a Riesling, as the sweetness (14.5g/l) creates a texture of citrus liqueur. The acidity and mineral flavours cut through the fullness resulting is a well-balanced, and very long finish. Very tasty. Drink 2011-2013.
