Tasting Notes: A dense, masculine blend of Bordeaux varieties that opens with a complex nose of cool blackberry, wild red currant, menthol, black cherry, coffee grinds, cardamom and baking spice aromas. The medium-plus bodied palate is loaded with brooding, dark fruit and toasted oak flavours, with light, savoury notes adding depth. Fine tannins, though a tad green, structure the palate nicely, adding texture and length. Finishes dry and dusty with smoky spice lingering for a good long while. Would benefit from another year in the bottle to round-out the broodiness on the palate. Drink mid-2015-2019.
