Tasting Notes: The Oldfield Series Syrah from southern Okanagan Valley producer Tinhorn Creek Vineyards displays an intense, inky ruby colour and an equally intense nose of dark cherry, vanilla, blackberry jam, pepper and cooking spice. Savory aromas of leather, cedar and hot gravel accompany the fruit creating a developing, complex bouquet well worth a long sniff.
The palate is dry with good tannins and natural acidity - just the right amount of bite. Juicy flavours of dark fruit, vanilla, leather and toasted oak with a chalky, smoky texture.
