Date Tasted: January 2nd, 2010
Tasting Notes: A wonderful BC Shiraz that despite its Oz-born winemaker (Jeff Martin) and name ('Shiraz' vs 'Syrah') is made in the more subtler Northern Rhone style. Youthful aromas of dark fruits, mocha chocolate and white pepper on the nose of this dark-ruby coloured charmer.
On the palate this wine offers youthful flavours of red berries, white and black pepper with light minerality and earthy notes. Excellent acid and tannin structure will allow this wine to age and improve over the next two years yet it is drinking comfortably now with proper decanting, a year after release. Drink 2010-2014.
